Illinois Prairie District Public Library is planning renovations for its Washburn branch and seeks community input to ensure the new design meets residents’ needs. A community meeting to showcase potential library design options was held on February 6, 2025. Anyone unable to attend that meeting can still contribute thoughts and suggestions through the end of February.
The design features shown during the meeting are displayed in the former museum space attached to the library. Residents can review options and vote on their preferred choices. Additionally, the library is accepting public comments regarding what patrons like most about the current library, what they would like to see improved, and their ideal visions for the library in the future.
To vote or submit comments, visit IPDPL – Washburn, 104 W. Magnolia St., Washburn, IL 61570. The library is open on Mondays from 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm, Wednesdays from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm, and Thursdays from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm.
