Located in the central region of Illinois, the Illinois Prairie District Public Library, with its six branch locations, serves 21,644 residents. The headquarters for the Illinois Prairie District Public Library is in the Metamora Branch. The IPDPL Obituary-Birth-Marriage-Anniversary Newspaper Index has been compiled from microfilmed copies of The Woodford Sentinel Newspaper (January 1887 to 06 December 1889) and The Metamora Herald Newspaper (20 December 1889 to 07 July 2011), Washburn Leader Newspaper (11 December 1902 to 30 December 1920). The newspapers cover the nearby towns of Benson, Cazenovia, Germantown Hills, Low Point, Roanoke, Spring Bay, and Washburn. The IPDPL Obituary-Birth-Marriage-Anniversary Newspaper Index includes; surname, first name, middle name, gender, brides: surname-given-middle name, dates: birth-marriage-death, newspaper, newspaper date, page number, and column number.

The project staff (Grant Fredericksen, Roberta Grooms, and Carol Wood) and many dedicated volunteers have made this index available for your use. We have tried to include all of the Newspapers: Obituaries-Birth-Marriage-Anniversary, whether full length or a line, but errors and omissions may have occurred and for this we apologize.

Photocopies of the Newspapers: Birth-Marriage-Anniversary-Obituaries as they appear, full length or a line, on the microfilm may be ordered from the Illinois Prairie District Public Library by mail (for a fee of $3.00 for each requested item).

Fees and Request: $3.00 for each requested item whether delivered as a paper copy or email copy. Please include the following information in your request: surname, first name, middle name, gender, brides: surname-given-middle name, dates: birth-marriage-death, newspaper, newspaper date, page number, and column number. Along with your (the requesters) name, address, city, state, zip code, phone, email, requesting a paper copy or email copy and $3.00 fee for each requested item.
