Get Items from Other Libraries

Can I get items from other libraries?

Yes! The IPDPL shares materials with area libraries to get patrons the items they request. To receive materials from other libraries, search the catalogs of all participating libraries and place a hold on the item desired just as you would for items in the collection of the IPDPL.

In addition, the library can request items from libraries outside the RSACat catalog. This free service is available to anyone with a valid Illinois Prairie District Public Library card. (Customers with cards other than Illinois Prairie District Public Library cards should contact the library which issued the card.)

The IPDPL staff can locate and request the material and contacts the patron when available. The material may then be checked out from any library branch by the patron for a specified time period. A request may be placed in person at any library branch, by phone, or online by emailing the request here.

If you have forgotten your password or don’t have one, contact the library by calling (309) 367-4594 or by clicking here.
