Special Meeting of the Illinois Prairie District Public Library Board
February 14, 2012
Metamora Headquarters, Metamora, IL
A special meeting of the Illinois Prairie District Public Library Board was held on February 14, 2012 at the Metamora Headquarters. Board members present were Buhr, Kramer, Pugh, Rush, Weddle, and Zoss; as was Director Fredericksen. Absent: Ericsson. Visitors included Paul Kouri, Kaywin Martin, and Jim Pugh.
Members reviewed the dates set to meet with Dewberry for planning the Germantown Hills library. The dates were set as February 21 and 28, and March 13 and 27, of 2012. Kramer made a motion that we move the March 13th meeting to the March 6th monthly Board meeting, combining the meetings to one date. Pugh seconded the motion and it passed. Fredericksen stated that he would be meeting with the Germantown Hills Chamber of Commerce.
Kaywin Martin was given the floor to discuss and review his vision for the Roanoke library. Much discussion ensued. Pugh moved that we sign a contract with Dewberry for the program at Roanoke, designating and committing $250,000 for Roanoke and also for Germantown Hills; then contingent upon the architect's approval this would open pursuit of grants for both library programs. Increased architectural costs to accommodate a Plan A and Plan B for Roanoke would not exceed an additional $5,000 increase in architectural fees. Due to lack of a second, this motion died. Abstention: Zoss.
At our next meeting, Paul Kouri will review the vote totals from the public meeting with the Germantown Hills residents on Feb. 9th, review the last meeting and move ahead with ideas on the G. H. program.
Martin presented bills from the land surveyor for Roanoke, and travel expenses, which amounted to $2,841.36. Buhr moved that we pay those bills; Pugh seconded the motion and it passed. Pugh made a motion that we adjourn at 6:10pm; Buhr seconded the motion and it passed.
