          The May 1, 2012 regular meeting of the Illinois Prairie District Public Library Board of Trustees met at the Spring Bay Branch Library in Spring Bay, Illinois; the meeting was called to order at 4:00pm.  Present were Board trustees Kramer, Pugh, Rush, Weddle, and Zoss; also present was Director Fredericksen.  Absent:  Buhr and Hicks.  The minutes of the March 20th, April 3rd, and April 12th meetings in 2012 were reviewed and stand approved.



A.  Germantown Hills site:  Fredericksen submitted our grant application for the Germantown Hills building program, and the state acknowledged the application had been received.  A discussion ensued on how to best work with the Germantown Hills Chamber of Commerce while remaining faithful to our committment of providing a quality, state of the art facility for the residents.


B.  Wiki for staff:  Wiki has been set up for the library branch staff, to be able to share information of interest between the branch libraries.


C.  Salaries:  The Board went into for discussion and decisions on salaries.   It was stated that investigation needs to go into writing additional policy on the salary structure of newly-hired employees, and handling benefits and insurance coverage. 


D.  OMA certification:  Fredericksen reminded Board members of the need to complete the on-line forms for this certification.


E.  Volunteer dinner:  Fredericksen will pursue the possibility of having the dinner on October 23rd.


          Policy review was tabled.   Kramer moved that we pay the bills and requisitions; Weddle seconded  and the motion passed.    Kramer moved to adjourn the meeting at 6:05pm; Zoss seconded the motion and it passed.  The next regular meeting will be Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at 4:00pm at the Washburn Branch Library in Washburn, IL.
