Board of Trustees Regular Board Meeting
Tuesday, August 7, 2007 4 p.m.
At the Benson Branch
420 Front St.
The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was called to order at 4 p.m. The following trustees were present: Koehler, Kramer, Rush, and Santos. Director Fredricksen was also present. Trustees Pugh, Peterson, and Zoss were absent. Kramer made and Santos seconded a motion to pay the bills and requisitions. All voted yes.
A. OCLC contract. Koehler moved to approve our annual OCLC contract for $6436. Santos seconded and the motion passed.
B. Germantown Hills site. Fredricksen is revising the needs assessment for board approval. It will then be sent to Fred Schlipf.
C. Benson Branch – Diana Kolb's retirement. Connie Hodel and Diana Kolb will switch positions (except for cleaning – Connie will retain this duty). We will hold off on a retirement party for Diana until after she completely retires.
D. Disaster Plan. Fredricksen presented the board with a disaster plan. He requested the board read over it before the next meeting.
E. Annual report. Kramer moved to approve the annual report, Santos seconded it and the motion passed.
F. Health Insurance Contract. Santos moved that we accept the rate increase of 4% and renew our Blue Cross Blue Shield policy again for next year. Kramer seconded it and the motion passed.
G. Computer purchase recommendation. Koehler moved to purchase ten Dell computers through Alliance Library System group purchase plan for $1,100.40 each. Kramer seconded and the motion passed. These will get us ready for the Vista/Unicorn operating system. Windows XP will be replaced by Vista. Unicorn will be replacing CarlWeb the second week of December.
H. Seal coating at Roanoke and Spring Bay. Santos moved to have the parking lots at Roanoke and Spring Bay seal coated for $985 and $820 respectively. Kramer seconded and the motion passed.
I. Policy examination. We will begin on p. 51.
The next regular meeting will be Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at the Germantown Hills branch.
